On May 9, 1990, in León Guanajuato, the founders David and Carlos Torres officially started operations under the brand name Norberto Torres, in honor of their father, who instilled in them the passion and craft of shoemaking.
Our production was limited to less than 20 pairs per day, and we started manufacturing shoes for the renowned brand "Palacio de Hierro"
Two years later, we expanded our capacity by opening a new production line with the Goodyear Welt system, which allowed us to manufacture for other brands through contract manufacturing.
Thanks to the Goodyear Welt system, we had the opportunity to export for the first time in our history.
In the face of the economic crisis of 1995 and the lack of liquidity in the domestic market, we decided to focus on the international market, making 100% of our production for export
We adopted the name that currently represents us, "DANTE," and formalized our first factory under the name Productora Internacional de Calzado (International Footwear Manufacturer)
To meet market demands, we inaugurated a new plant specialized in footwear construction through the cementing system, called Nacional Maquiladora de Calzado (National Footwear Contract Manufacturer)
With the establishment of Industries Dante, we were able to consolidate our two specialized constructions in the original Goodyear Welt and cementing technologies.
With all of our experience and quality gained over the years, we decided to challenge paradigms and captivate the world by launching our own home brand under the name DANTE.
We exceeded the production of 3,500 pairs per day for export.
We opened our first DANTE store in the city that witnessed our birth, León Guanajuato.
We opened our second DANTE store in Mexico City, just a few steps away from the legendary Mazaryk Street.
For the first time, we exceeded one million pairs exported during the year.
